Four Wainscot Media magazines were honored in the 19th Annual Service Industry Advertising Awards (SIAAwards) for their excellence in advertising and content in 2021. Wainscot won gold, silver and bronze in the retail publication category for Garmany, ACCENT (on behalf of Hamilton Jewelers) and Lee Michaels, respectively. In the healthcare publication category, Wainscot won silver for Monmouth Health & Life.

“It’s so fulfilling to produce content that resonates with readers and also celebrates our clients’ visions,” notes Rita Guarna, Wainscot’s SVP, editorial director and editor-in-chief of each of the winning titles. “And, of course, having our work recognized is thrilling.”

Each print and online edition of Garmany, which Wainscot has been publishing three times a year for more than a decade, is customized to appeal to a discerning readership. The magazine’s lifestyle content ranges from fashion and fine art to food and wine to auto and travel and more. The eponymous high-end men’s and women’s clothier is located in Red Bank, NJ.

“The audience of our luxury magazines appreciates the finer things in life, and we provide content that appeals to them,” Guarna says. “That’s what makes us ideal partners for clients seeking to leverage that expertise when developing their content strategy.”

Wainscot publishes ACCENT and Lee Michaels twice a year, showcasing the high-end jewelers’ collection of luxury gems and timepieces. Each client’s magazine—print and digital—features a blend of bespoke covers and content that fits seamlessly with lifestyle articles, mirroring the sophisticated lives of the readers while delivering an experience that ultimately leads to product sales. Hamilton Jewelers is headquartered in Princeton, NJ, with additional locations in Palm Beach and Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Baton Rouge-based Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry has nine stores throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and Texas.

In the healthcare category, Monmouth Health & Life has been engaging its audience for 20 years with credible, easy-to-read, hyper-local content. The title is published six times a year in partnership with Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ. The medical center is part of RWJBarnabas Health, the largest healthcare system in New Jersey.

“We strive for excellence in every facet—compelling writing and bold graphics—of the brands’ content and aim to surprise, inform and delight,” Guarna continues. “Presentation is so important, which is why we also lavish our attention on design. Success happens when the visual meets the verbal.”

The SIAAwards are the only national awards to specifically recognize the advertising achievements in the service industry. The 2021 competition featured more than 1,200 entries, which were evaluated by a national panel of judges on execution, creativity, quality, consumer appeal and overall breakthrough advertising content.

Wainscot also won three SIAAwards in 2020, including Best In Show, Publication honors for Thread, on behalf of upscale interior design and furniture store Studio 882 of Glen Mills, PA. The company also won a bronze for Garmany and merit for ACCENT in the retail publication category.

Wainscot Media publishes more than two dozen magazines nationwide in its luxury division and four regional magazines in New Jersey.
